SPIRAL presents: 'Specks' - our debut concert in Melbourne!
Join us for a musical extravaganza - jam-packed with solos, improvisation, audio/visuals, minimalism, and a world premiere featuring local guest artist Kit Millais!!!!!
“Nowadays it's kind of fun, because when you're writing tonal music you get a chance to say, ‘Oh, yes, but I did my 12-tone music, and I did my theater pieces, and stuff.’”
- Eric Ewazen
As one of the leading voices of his generation, Japanese-born Dai Fujikura's music has been performed by a host of leading ensembles and soloists all around the world. This program features a brand new work written for the Conservatorium's very own Ensemble Three, as well as works for percussion and mixed ensemble. It is our great honour to have Mr Fujikura join us for this performance and a post-concert Q&A.
New Stage is back for another year of concerts at Some Velvet Morning, bringing new music from local composers to Melbourne's live music venues for an informal and enjoyable night for all.
